Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand Wang Xiaolong Pays Farewell Call on New Zealand Prime Minister Luxon

On the afternoon of September 22, Ambassador Dr Wang Xiaolong paid a farewell call on New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.

Ambassador Wang said that over the past nearly three years, under the strategic stewardship of the leaders of both countries, frequent high-level exchanges have set the direction and generated strong momentum for the bilateral relations, with substantial progress and fruitful cooperation across various fields. China is ready to work with New Zealand to continue focusing on cooperation on the basis of mutual respect and mutual benefit, and manage differences through dialogue and consultation to deliver greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.

Prime Minister Luxon spoke highly of Ambassador Wang's contribution to promoting New Zealand-China relations. He said New Zealand values its relationship with China, and that there are many areas of collaboration to take it forward. Wherever differences arise, it is important to manage them with mutual respect and keep the relationship on a good trajectory.

The two sides also exchanged views on issues of common interest, including the upcoming China-US summit and the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting.
