Oceania Tops Global Charts in Cocaine Use

The Americas followed in second place, trailed by Western and Central Europe.
The document also observed that the level of cocaine consumption among adolescents aged 15 and 16 in Oceania is lower than that of the broader public.
In terms of cannabis, the UNODC identified its highest usage in North America, with Oceania and the West and Central African regions coming next.
According to the report, the proportion of individuals receiving drug-related treatment for cannabis use is also most significant in Oceania and Africa when compared to other parts of the globe.
Furthermore, Australia and New Zealand reportedly show the highest global figures for ecstasy use.
The UN body cautioned that escalating levels of drug usage across multiple regions, together with expanding trafficking routes and manufacturing operations, persist in intensifying worldwide challenges to health and safety.
